Fix our Roads!

The state of many roads in Cirencester and the surrounding area are terrible. In some areas, driving around can be so bumpy that it feels like being on a safari, couple this with the damage done to vehicles which costs motorists thousands of pounds a year it makes for a totally unacceptable situation.

Years of underinvestment by the ruling Conservatives at Shire Hall means there is a backlog of repairs of well over £80 million. The budget for roads is around £30million.

Lewis Lane is dangerous, particularly for bikes and motorbikes

I have lived in Cirencester for 7 years. It has deteriorated significantly since we moved. A tyre fitter has told me how his business has expanded in recent years thanks to pot hole paradise.

I think it’s disgusting that I have to dodge potholes to and from work everyday to avoid damaging my car. Council – do your job and get it sorted! You should be embarrassed.

Some parking improvements around the town wouldn’t go unnoticed either!

medieval roads throughout the county.Only yesterday driving through Malmesbury, there was a pothole about 3ft long, that looked like it had recently claimed a car, judging by the hole in the bushes towards the field and beyond…

Disgraceful situation putting injury @ risk. Councils should be ashamed.

The Glos CC budget for roads is appalling and totally unacceptable. The present policy of just filling pot holes is pointless. There needs to be a comprehensive plan to cut and patch where the roads are breaking up or to resurface. It is dangerous trying to drive round avoiding the holes. I think that people may have given up reporting them because they nothing will happen. The contract policy of filling the marked holes and just leaving the more recent ones in the same road is ridiculous. Are we a third world county we soon will be!
