You may be aware that plans have been submitted to Cotswold District Council for a ‘truck stop’ on land just off of Gloucester Road at the junction with the A417 near Daglingworth.
The plans include provision of a new secure roadside truck stop facility, including associated HGV and car parking, drivers facilities building, vehicular access, service yard and landscaping.
As local Councillors we’re extremely concerned about the impact and potential harm that these plans will have on the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the potential impact on Stratton, Daglingworth and Baunton of increased vehicle movements and activity on the site.
We’re also frustrated at the lack of community engagement the applicant has undertaken for an application that they probably knew would be controversial.
Many of you have already been in touch with us outlining your concerns.
We’d therefore like to invite you to a virtual public meeting so discuss how best to object to the application to try and secure a refusal.
